Are you ready to invest in the wellbeing of your workforce?

Why invest in workplace wellness...

On average, every person will spend 1/3 of their life at work. Ever increasing pressures (not to mention Covid-19) and expectations placed upon employees come at a cost to their health and wellbeing. With work-related stress levels and illness on the rise, productivity and performance are declining.

Many of these common work-related health and stress issues are reversible if you act early and make positive long-lasting changes to build a happier, healthier and more productive workforce.

A happy and healthy workforce is intrinsically linked to the success of a company and the benefits of a workplace wellness programme include:

  • Improved employee engagement
  • Reduced sickness and absenteeism
  • Increased performance and productivity
  • Attraction of new talent and increased staff retention
  • Boosted morale and staff relationships
  • Enhanced focus, resilience, creativity and energy

A few UK workplace wellbeing facts & figures...

  • According to the Labour Force Survey (UK) estimates, there were 822,000 workers affected by work-related stress, depression or anxiety in 2021 - accounting for 50% of all work-related ill health.
  • A study by Westfield Health (2020/2021) showed mental health absenteeism cost UK businesses £14 billion in 2020. Presenteeism was also a significant 'hidden' problem of poor wellbeing (present but unproductive) with more than 1/3 of employees saying their mental health affects their work on a weekly basis.
  • A 2018 study of UK office workers by Censuswide found 81% spend between 4 and 9 hours sitting at their desks each day, with a sedentary lifestyle having serious negative impacts on health.
  • Business in the Community reported poor eating habits in the UK cost employers around £17 billion a year or 97 million lost working days.

Nutrition research & content writing

I can collaborate with you to provide inspiring company intranet content, social media / blog posts and newsletter articles covering topics from nutrition myth busting to a review of local lunch options for nourishing and energising meals.
